GREEN Kirby Benjamin Green, Jr., 79, passed away at E.T. York Hospice Care Center in Gainesville on July 18, 2008. Born in Jacksonville, FL, he moved to Gainesville in 1947. He was an engineer for Southern Bell Telephone Company. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. He was a member of the R.T. Schafer Masonic Lodge #350; the Genealogy Societies of Homerville, GA, Jacksonville, FL and Gainesville, FL; the Whittler Club of Gainesville, FL. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kirby B. Green, Sr. and Parris P. Dykes Green. His is survived by his wife of 59, years, Christine Burney Green of Gainesville, FL; two daughters, two sons, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services will be held on Monday, July 21, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Parkview Baptist Church, 3430 NW 13th Street, Gainesville.
