HICKMAN Mrs. Ramona J. Hickman, age 77, of Savannah Grande, Amelia Island, FL passed away on Tuesday afternoon, July 15, 2008 at the Orange Park Medical Center. Born in Fort Pierce, Florida to the late Homer N. Watson and Thelma Odum Watson, she had been a lifelong resident of Florida to include Tallahassee, and Central Florida; until moving to Amelia Island in 2006. While married to Allen Rex Smith Jr., they raised their family and lived in Tallahassee where she worked for Municipal Code and was active with the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce and the State House when the Legislature was in session. She worked at Owens Corning in Jacksonville briefly and in 1981 she met and married Robert Hickman and moved to Orlando/Winter Park. Upon Mr. Hickman's retirement from Blackton Industries they moved to Ocala, FL. A loving mother and grandmother, Mrs. Hickman enjoyed traveling extensively. She was Baptist by faith. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: her former husbands, Allen Rex Smith, Jr. and Robert Hickman, a sister, Norma Smith of Winter Haven and a brother Wayne Watson of Orange Park. She leaves behind, one son, Allen Smith (Beverly), Yulee, FL, three daughters, Shari Marchman (Randy), Orange Park, FL, Becky Bergeron (George), Paula Thornton (Dave), all of Crawfordville, FL, nine grandchildren, Pam Crenwelge, Travis Bergeron, Jennifer Kincaid, Scott Smith, Jeremy Bergeron, Amy Steele, Brad Smith, Amanda Thornton, Brian Gum, nine great grandchildren, Corbin Crenwelge, Justin and Ashlyn Bergeron, Harlie and Scotty Smith, Jaydyn and Juliana Steele, Patrick Kincaid and baby brother Blake who is to arrive any day. Memorial services will be at 10:00 am, on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at the Lakeshore Presbyterian Church, 2270 Blanding Blvd., Jacksonville, FL, with Pastor Kathy McLean, officiating. The family invites guests and friends to visit from 9:00 am until the hour of service, at the church. She will be laid to rest at a later date in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
